Addis is a family-owned Ethiopian restaurant in San Diego, dedicated to serving traditional dishes made with fresh ingredients in a warm, welcoming setting. It is a tribute to the country we were born in and to all the people who shared their care and connection with us through food. As the birthplace of coffee, Ethiopia inspires our selection of freshly roasted coffee, along with traditional food. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing a meal together.
Hi, we're Fekad and Alem, a husband-and-wife team proud to call Addis our own. We immigrated to the US from Ethiopia in 1985. Eventually, we settled in San Diego - a place that reminded us of home in the right ways, with beautiful weather and kind people.
Named after the city, Addis is a homage to the country we were born in, and all of the people who showed us love through food throughout our lives. Food is a core part of the community in Ethiopia, and at Addis, we want you to feel like part of our community. We're happy to guide you through the menu and explain our process. It's our goal to create an inviting place where guests can enjoy authentic, home-cooked food.
